Our lodging gives you the opportunity to discover Calomarde, a municipal district close to the Blanco River, in the middle sector of the Sierra de Albarracín mountain range, 49 km from Teruel city and 14 km from Albarracín. Calomarde is 1,312 m above sea level and has 86 inhabitants.
San Pedro Apóstol (Saint Peter Apostle) Parish Church is worth mentioning for its architectural and cultural importance. It was built during the first half of the 17th century on the ruins of an earlier church. Roman tombstones were used to build it, as can be noticed a few metres above ground level. It is a made of masonry, with two naves and a tower at one end. There are also several shrines that are now closed to worship: the Gothic San Gil Abad Shrine, with the Terencia family's Roman tomb, Saint Sebastian Shrine and Peirón of the Santos de la Piedra (the Pillar of the Stone Saints).
In the vicinity you will discover excellent examples of erosion, such as the place where water from the Fuente del Berro spring river is collected. It is also known as the Calomarde "Royo" (a natural rock arch). Other landscapes worthy of mention are the picnic spot at Cascada del Molino waterfall, the Pino, Obispo, Espino and Cadajón springs, Alto de la Peña peak, Carretera Tío Coto road, Castillejo, Hoz de Calomarde gorge, Puente de la Toba bridge, Pozo de la Olla pool, Cueva de la Mora and Cueva de la Zarza caves, Calomarde waterfall, Moricacho de la Hoz, and the Blanco River banks in general, with their beautifully moulded terraces of sedimentary tuff.
